Metallica announced that they have begun the mixing phase of their upcoming album.

According to Blabbermouth, the band’s studio progress was revealed last week by Dan Nykolayko, a member of the Metallica staff who interviewed frontman James Hetfield “Beautiful Broken” and drummer Lars Ulrich for a Metallica.com article on the 20th anniversary of the group’s “Load” LP.

“We’re mixing it now, so hopefully by fall it’ll be out and hitting people’s ears,” explained Hetfield when asked if there was any news he would like to break about the upcoming album. “We’re super stoked about it. It’s been a long time coming, and, you know, this is what we do. We love playing, and the next album is exactly what it’s supposed to be, so we’re excited about it,” the frontman added.

Also, a snippet of “Beautiful Broken” track off Heart’s upcoming new album has surfaced, featuring Hetfield. Check it out below.
