As most superhero movies fans know after spending many years in development hell, Deadpool proved itself to be a huge hit. Doubters were worried the R-rating would not go over well with the public, the movie ended up being a big success with critics and fans, plus Deadpool became the biggest domestic hit in the X-Men franchise. With a budget of $58 million, the total box office was $783.1 million becoming the most successful rated R movie off all-time. As expected Fox Studios ordered a sequel right away.
Deadpool 2 is expected to hit theaters sometime in 2018, directed by David Leitch.
