Robert Trujillo’s 12-Year-Old Son Plays Bass on KORN Tour

Korn’s most recent recruit is 12-year-old Tye Trujillo, Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo’s son. Tye will be joining the band on their upcoming South American Tour.

The spot opened up when longtime bassist Reginald “Fieldy” Arvizu took time off for “unforeseen circumstances.” He’ll rejoin the group in May for their North American tour. Says Korn:

We are bummed Fieldy can’t join us on this run but excited to do a few gigs with a young player like Tye.

Tye Trujillo has played with local rock band the Helmets since he was eight. They’ve played Lollapalooza Chile, Lollapalooza’s Kidsapalooza stage, and will make a return appearance at BottleRock this summer.

Korn’s six-date South American tour began April 17th in Bogota, Colombia and wraps April 27th in Santiago, Chile. Check out Trujillo’s performance below (via Stereogum).
