Monday night Metallica returned to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to perform “Now That We’re Dead” off their tenth album Hardwired… to Self-Destruct (2016). James Hetfield shouts, “If you want to live forever, then you must die first.” The band then thunders through riffs and hooks under a blood-red light, their cover art morphing in the back screen.

Metallica has successfully sold over 110 million albums since the band’s inception, and Hardwired…to Self- Destruct sold 291,000 albums in its first week, shooting it to #1 on the Billboard Album charts.
Recently, Metallica was in the news for replacing stolen instruments for their tribute band Blistered Earth. Metallica fans can catch the band live at AT&T Park on August 7th and Outside Lands on August 11th.
