Kid Rock teased his candidacy for the Michigan Senate Wednesday by launching a website and posting on social media, much to the confusion of pretty much everyone.
Now he’s doubling down, confirming he’s very serious about running.
Kid Rock, whose real name is Robert James Ritchie, called out the press in a post for doubting his potential campaign, saying he is weeks away from filing paperwork with the Federal Election Commission.
The rocker also smashed reports that he was signed to Warner Brothers Records and said that he was going to put out music as part of his campaign strategy. He released two songs, “Po-Dunk” and “Greatest Show on Earth,” saying “it’s not a hoax, it’s a strategy and marketing 101.”
He also had a special message for current Michigan Senator and Democrat Debbie Stabenow:
Senator Stabenow and I do share a love of music, although probably not the same kind. I concede she is better at playing politics than I am so I’ll keep doing what I do best, which is being a voice for tax paying, hardworking Americans and letting politicians like her know that ‘We the People’ are sick and tired of their bullshit!
Toward the end of the music video for “Greatest Show on Earth,” Kid Rock left another teaser announcing a 2018 tour. Sounds like he’s got his hands full.
