Baby Huey & Chasta chat with local neXt2rock finalist ZED. Based out of San Jose, ZED’s sound is the epitome of the classic rock and roll trinity: blues, heaviness and groove. The band’s vocal and guitarist Peter Sattari says “some people call us stoner rock, some people call stoner metal, some people call us rock and roll – it’s somewhere in there.” With the Bay Area music scene constantly inspiring the band, Sattari adds that influences like Metallica helped paved the way for bands with a hardcore raw and edgy sound.
For over a decade, ZED has shaken up the music scene and entered the neXt2rock contest to not only share their music with new fans but also with hopes of gaining some wisdom and new connections with the industry’s celebrity panel. The band is currently working on their fourth studio album, slated for release on Ripple Music in the fall of 2018, with an East Coast (and potentially European) tour. The neXt2rock local finalist will be announced on November 21st, and the top five nationally voted best bands will take the stage on December 12th at the iconic Viper Room in Los Angeles. The winner will receive a deal with Big Machine/John Varvatos Records and radio airplay.. and be named neXt2rock.
