It’s not often you get to sit down with Champ and ask him about the legendary back alley fight with rival news stations. However, when you do, you make sure to ask him when the next Anchorman is coming out.

Anchorman, a comedy starting a 70’s-porn-stache-touting Will Ferrell, was received only lukewarm by critics but was a huge success with audiences. The cult classic received a sequel nearly nine years after it’s original release to fans clamoring for more Ron Burgundy and company. When asked about the possibility of a third Anchorman David Koechner, who played the insufferable Champ, was doubtful although joked that it could be a possibility in another 10 years.
Koechner says he feels grateful to have been a part of such a iconic movie and is not bothered by the one-liners often shouted to him on the streets.
“You gotta appreciate it I think,” Koechner said. “It would be worse if it didn’t happen.”
Koechner seemed to have quite a positive and humble outlook when thinking about being a part of such monoliths as Anchorman and The Office. The fans of the movies and shows he’s been on are what makes them so successful and David was not one to forget that.
He will be featured on several TV shows this fall including ABC’s The Goldbergs, Bobcat Goldthwait’s Misfits & Monsters, and others.
