The end of 2018 marked a new career highlight for Queen, their biopic “Bohemian Rhapsody” was released and fans all over the world loved the movie. To top it off, the film won big time during this year’s award season including Best Motion Picture at the Golden Globes and star Rami Malek won best actor at both the Golden Globes and Academy Awards for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury.
One of the film highlights was Queen’s performance at 1985’s Live Aid. However, in the theatrical cut we did not get to see the full performance, but 20th Century Fox revealed that an entire shot-for-shot remake of the 22-minute concert will be presented in full on the movie’s home release which is out now on DVD, Blu-ray and digital download.
In the video below you can watch a side by side comparison of Queen’s actual Live Aid performance with the actors of the movie recreating the concert. Congrats to everyone involved for nailing this spot on scene.
Here are the stars of Bohemian Rhapsody explaining the process to recreate the Live Aid performance.
