Collaborations are far from uncommon in this world, and some of the most popular mash up are when breweries and band unite. Of course there’s the Bay Area’s own Metallica with Stone Brewing Company’s “Enter Night” Hoppy Pilsner but now we can say that one of our own has had the honor of crafting a custom brew.
Soundwaves TV, hosted by Chasta, Dennis Willis and Steven Kirk, came together with Pacifica’s Pedro Point Brewing brewmaster Aaron and crafted their very own beer, the “One Sip Wonder”. Now the amazing thing about this lager is that it was made with strawberry and pineapple extract added during the fermentation process. By doing this, the extreme flavors of the fruit added a subtle balance that pairs perfectly with the lager style of beer. The light flavor of the fruit, the moderate ABV, which came out to 5% ABV, and the crispness of the lager makes it the perfect compliment to that California Indian summer weather that carries on into fall (and now Winter). You’ll definitely want to take that trip to the coast and check this out at Longboard Margarita Bar or Pedro Point Brewing exclusively.
It was an honor to be able to talk to the Soundwaves crew, especially because I was one of the lucky first to sample ahead of the release! If you missed the episode, click here to check it out – you might even see a familiar face (yours truly).
