Against the Saints, a Robbie Gould field goal that won the game, but it was George Kittle’s incredible catch and run that proved to be the deciding play.
Two weeks later vs. the Rams on Saturday night it was again Gould who pushed the 49ers past their opponent on the game’s final play, and again it was set up by an incredible play from the San Francisco offense.
After converting an improbable third and 16 just three plays prior, the 49ers did it a second time, on a 46-yard bomb from Jimmy Garoppolo to Emmanuel Sanders with 42 seconds left. The Rams appeared to have a coverage breakdown, with Jalen Ramsey letting Sanders run free expecting safety help from Taylor Rapp.
The 49ers are now 12-3 heading into their final game vs. the Seahawks in Seattle next Sunday. The winner will take the NFC West and will be the favorites to grab the first overall playoff seed.
