Spotify CEO Daniel Ek is receiving some backlash from the music industry, after commenting about the length of time some artists take to release new music. Ek said, “Some artists that used to do well in the past may not do well in this future landscape. You can’t record music once every three to four years and think that’s going to be enough.” Spotify is an online streaming service for music that has been heavily criticized for its low streaming payout rates for artists.
