What’s a better way to spend your time than to listen to the up-and-coming rock band Greta Van Fleet.
The band who draws heavily from classic rock icons like Led Zeppelin, a comparison the band hates, absolutely rocked Colorado’s infamous Red Rocks Amphitheater.
Frontman Josh Kiszka‘s voice thrusts listeners into a time machine, nostalgia surging over you in the form of crunchy guitar riffs and vocal arpeggiations that oscillate from silky smooth lulls to rockin’ panther growls.
Backed by brothers Jake Kiszka on guitar, Sam Kiszka on the bass, and friend Danny Wagner on the drums, the anachronistic quartet has started to garner deserved attention in the last three years. Formed officially in 2012, the band was signed to Lava Records in March 2017 where they went on to win Best New Artist at the 2017 Loudwire Music Awards. Loudwire had exclusively streamed the band’s first single Highway Tune earlier that year.
After releasing their first EP in April 2017, the band re-released their first four tracks on a double EP called From the Fires in November that year. Their first full-length album, Anthem of the Peaceful Army (2018), would go on to sell 80,000 units in it’s first week and debut at number three on Billboard 200.
A after a fateful performance at the personal request Sir Elton John, the band was advised to become more flamboyant in their stage presence. A piece of advice that the band embraced and thrust them even further into an aesthetic that makes watching them perform look like the most beautifully remastered footage of your classic rock favorites.
