Losing a football game is tough enough. A game that essentially knocked you out of the playoff picture even more so. But for the 49ers, the disappointment of Monday’s loss to the Bills was compounded by another factor: They’re not allowed to go home.
49ers offensive lineman Mike McGlinchey hopped on 107.7 The Bone for his weekly interview, and explained the awkwardness of staying in Arizona after being kicked out of Santa Clara due to COVID restrictions, especially considering the team is not even allowed to hang out together during the extended road trip.
“It’s kind’ve weird in that regard,” McGlinchey said. “You see each other in virtual meetings, you see each other in passing, getting treatment and getting ready to go to practice. Unfortunately we’d love to spend a lot of time together but aren’t allowed.”
