Live Nation CEO Says U.S. Might Have Concerts Midsummer

How badly do you want live music to come back? Really, like HOW BAD…we feel you. With more vaccines getting distributed and communities starting to slowly open back up, the concert industry seems to be cautiously optimistic. But, a number of things have to fall into place in order for it to happen. And, we’ve got a long way to go, as new COVID-19 variants are popping up everywhere. Mask-wearing, social distancing, and vaccines need to continue if we even want to consider concerts in 2021!

But a bit of good news is coming from Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino, after recently speaking with Governors from a handful of states. He says largescale United States concerts could potentially happen in midsummer.

“We might have certain states that might not be ready, but we have enough states and enough artists willing to play the open slots if we get to that level in the right markets,” Rapino said. “So as long as these states open up to the right capacities, we can start in midsummer, and in the southern U.S. we can go all the way into November.”

California was not mentioned in this story if you’re wondering. Check out the full article from spin.com here.
