Metallica celebrated the 35th anniversary of their Master of Puppets album with a special performance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Metallica performed Master of Puppets opening track “Battery” on Wednesday night. While introducing the band, Colbert noted that the album had “such an impact that it was added to National Recording Registry of the Library of Congress.”

Metallica even used the same touring backdrop from their 1986-87 Damage, Inc. tour to give the performance more nostalgia.

What is your favorite song off of Master of Puppets? How do you think Metallica performs now compared to the ’80s?
