Metallica has shared another Black Album-era rarity ahead of the upcoming 30th Anniversary reissue. The band released a ‘Pre-Production Rehearsal’ take of “Holier Than Thou”, recording during, well, pre-production rehearsals in October 1990 – with covers from Biffy Clyro and OFF!

The upcoming Black Album 30th Anniversary set will include a whopping 14 CDs and 6 DVDs of early demos, alternate takes, rough mixes, music videos, interviews, and live tracks.  It will be out in September.

What’s the best Metallica album?  Are you the type of fan who will listen to all 14 discs’ worth of Black Album demos?
