Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Gary Rossington Has ‘Emergency Heart Surgery’

Gary Rossington, the last active original member of Lynyrd Skynyrd, is recovering from an “emergency heart surgery.” According to the band’s Facebook page, Rossington is at home with family and is expected to have “a full recovery.” Singer Johnny Van Zandt recently told concertgoers that Rossington had to miss playing due to having to “have an emergency stent put in his heart.”

Rossington, 69, is one of two surviving members of the original lineup of Lynyrd Skynyrd along with estranged drummer Atrimus Pyle.

Do you think the revamped version of Lynyrd Skynyrd that has been performing are as good as the original? What Lynyrd Skynyrd song is your favorite?
