9-Year-Old Bassist Covers ‘Tom Sawyer’ with Ease

What a talent. At only 9 years old, young Ellen Alaverdyan has began playing everything from ukulele, to drums, to guitar, and now bass.

This mini-Lee only started playing the instrument since last April but has already raised to the level of covering baselines from the arguably the best bassist ever. Alaverdyan’s decided to cover Rush’s “Tom Sawyer” after receiving a Geddy Lee signature pedal by Tech 21.

“This was a huge challenge and learning process. Hope you guys will enjoy it,” the young bassist stated. “Thank you Tech 21 NYC for the Geddy Lee signature pedal, it sounds amazing.”

Though challenging, Alaverdyan pulled off the complex song with apparent ease and even gleefully playing the air synth in the interlude.

We can’t wait to see what this amazing young artist does next.
