MTV VMAs 2021: Foo Fighters Take Home Global Icon Award, Perform Hits Medley

It was a big night for Foo Fighters as they were awarded the first-ever Global Icon Award at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday. Dave Grohl and company were introduced by Billie Eilish who said, “an entire generation of music fans” had grown up with the band, and they “helped the world fall in love with rock and roll.”

Grohl told the crowd during the band’s acceptance speech, “We’ve been a band for 26 years, so it feels pretty good.”

The band then performed a medley of their hits, opening with Learn to Fly’ and ending with, ‘Everlong.’
