Nikki Sixx Compares Vince Neil’s Voice to Robert Plant’s

In a statement that’s bound to draw the ire of some Led Zeppelin fans, Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx says Vince Neil’s voice is on par with Robert Plant’s.

“With Motley Crue, Vince has this amazing, unique voice — sometimes like Robert Plant, Perry Farrell,” Sixx says. “They have these interesting voices that are not pitchy; they’re just raw and just kind of on top. I always loved that about Vince’s voice and I would write for Vince.”

Sixx goes on to say he couldn’t imagine anyone else fronting the group, noting that Neil’s voice brings a “really interesting magic” to the group’s sound.

Do you hear similarities in the voices of Neil and Plant? For your money, who’s the greatest rock singer of all time?
