Mötley Crüe’s Nikki Sixx Explains How He Ended Up With His Name

YouTube, @Better Noise Music.

While promoting his new memoir, ‘The First 21: How I Became Nikki Sixx,’ Motley Crue’s Nikki Sixx revealed how he got his name.

Saying that his grandparents raised him, Sixx wanted to avoid using his father’s name.

“So I changed my name to Nikki Sixx legally and said, ‘I’m moving forward,'” Nikki said. “And I did. I got my own family — everything Sixx everywhere.”

Born Frank Feranna, Sixx said that he lifted his new name from the frontman from Squeeze-he just spells it differently.

If you could change your name, what would you choose? Are you happy with the name you have?
