Whitesnake frontman David Coverdale says it’s almost time to hang up his microphone — at least on the road.

On the “Appetite For Distortion” podcast, Coverdale made it clear after this next batch of tour dates, he is officially retiring. “Make no mistake, this is the farewell tour.”

Coverdale said he originally planned to retire in 2020 (at the age of 69), but the pandemic had other plans. So, he’s finishing up soon after fifty years of touring around the world.

It blows my mind – it really does.”

Coverdale then also clarified that it’s just him who is retiring from touring; Whitesnake will still do projects and possibly even new music.

I’m not gonna take up crochet.”
