Dave Grohl Covers Ramones for ‘Hanukkah Sessions

YouTube, @Foo Fighters.

Dave Grohl and producer Greg Kurstin delivered their second edition of their ‘Hanukkah Sessions’ on Monday with a cover of The Ramones!

The description for the video said, “Once upon a time, two nice Jewish boys from Queens named Jeffery Hyman and Thomas Erdelyi changed the world forever with their music….. as Joey and Tommy Ramone! GABBAI GABBAI HEY! Ladies and gentlemen…. It’s the Ramones! Blitzkreig Bop!”

Gabbai is a Hebrew word for a religious leader in a synagogue.

The pair had previously covered Lisa Loeb’s “Stay” for this series, but with a metal twist. You can check both covers on the Foo Fighters’ Youtube channel.

What do you think of the ‘Hanukkah Sessions?’ Do you think Hanukkah gets overshadowed by Christmas each year?
