Jay-Z, Bill Maher, Woody Harrelson, and Patricia Arquette are among those who want to turn West Hollywood into a Californian New Amsterdam according to the Los Angeles Times. 

Forty new cannabis permits are expected to be granted over the next year. The move would mesh the artistic and social vibe with the recreational weed movement that will make up “Emerald City.”

Jay-Z recently purchased the all-female West Hollywood dispensary “Calma” and Patricia Arquette in an investor in a cannabis lounge. Woody Harrelson and Bill Maher have partnered up for a lounge and dispensary which is currently under construction. 

West Hollywood Mayor Lauren Meister tells the Times, “We have always been a little edgy,” she said, “and I think this fits in with our personality.”
