Police Unearth 1980 Christmas Video For ‘Don’t Stand So Close To Me’

YouTube, @The Police.

The Police have dug up a Christmas blast from the past – a holiday-themed music video for one of their biggest hits.

The video, for “Don’t Stand So Close To Me”, finds the trio on a ski slope – complete with skiers in Santa suits.

It was filmed in December 1980 in Grey Rock, Quebec – eagle-eyed fans might notice it’s the same location as their video for “De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da”.

The Police have been digging through the archives lately – the band recently unearthed a recording of their first-ever U.S. concert and plan to release it soon.

Why were 80’s music videos so cheesy?
