‘The Batman’ Director Says His Bruce Wayne Was Inspired By Kurt Cobain

The latest version of Batman has a surprising inspiration – Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain.

Matt Reeves, director of The Batman, says he imagined Bruce Wayne as a “recluse” and based the character on “the idea of this fictionalized version of Kurt Cobain” in a “decaying manor”.

Reeves says he would listen to Nirvana’s “Something In The Way” while writing the screenplay – the song even shows up in the movie’s first trailer.

The Batman stars Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader and will be in theaters on March 4th.

Would you ever have imagined Bruce Wayne and Kurt Cobain having something in common?  Which actor made the best Batman?
