David Bowie’s estate has sold the legendary artists’s song catalog, for a whopping $250 million.

Per Variety, the deal is with Warner Chappell Music and includes Bowie’s 26 studio albums as well as soundtracks, non-LP singles, and his two albums with Tin Machine.

Warner Music has already been releasing a series of Bowie box sets, and will continue to do so in the coming years.

Other artists who have sold off their catalogs in the last year include Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Stevie Nicks, Neil Young, and ZZ Top.

Why are so many artists selling off their catalogs?  What Bowie songs would you like to see used in a commercial?
