Imagine being a guitar tech for the late, great Eddie Van Halen!  It’s a tough job, and the man who held it says the job interview was even tougher.

Tom Weber served as EVH’s tech from 2007 until Eddie’s death last year.  He says when he interviewed for the gig, he was handed a guitar and told “set this up the way you think Ed would like it” – with no information on what to do.

Weber figured out that with Eddie’s famously strong grip, he’d need to set up the guitar ‘flat’ to compensate.  By his second attempt, Eddie told him “It’s perfect.  Where have you been all my life?”

Ever dream of going on the road with a rock band as part of the crew?
