It seems like Mike Judge is bored. After the announcement of the Beavis and Butthead reboot for Paramount+, he, alongside Greg Daniels, have announced that a King of the Hill revival is in the works.
Daniels and Judge return once again under their new animation company Bandera Entertainment, which was born from a series of King of the Hill reunion panels. Though much about the project hasn’t been revealed yet, like release date and plot, Daniels is very excited about the future of the newly formed entertainment company with Judge.
In a quote from The Hollywood Reporter, Daniels says “We’re in a golden age for content, right? That’s animation, too. That was one of the things we were talking about in founding the company: ‘Let’s push animation into all these different genres.’”
King of the Hill ran for thirteen seasons from 1997-2003 and really gained a cult following once it was in syndication on Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim and other networks. Were you a fan when it was on television? What do you think about the announcement?
