It’s time to get educational! That’s right, as much as I love the fact that you listeners are learning about new and exciting breweries, I want to help teach you about the beers themselves as well. That’s why, with the help of Chasta we are starting a new sub series in BONE-A-Fide Brews, Stylin’ and Profilin’. We will take a look at the history and backstory of one specific style and because Chasta is the IPA queen we dive into the West Coast IPA, and drink some as well!
For this episode we go through the ranks of three different West Coast IPA’s. We start off with one of the most well known and quite possibly one of the brews that really put the West Coast Style on the map, the Lagunitas IPA. Followed by a Double IPA from Hop Dogma, “Smile Medication” and to finish the journey of course we end the episode with a triple IPA. This one is a seasonal brew from 3 Disciples, their “Brewmorpheus IPA”.
One of the best things that I remember from my time as a beertender and also as a salesman, was being able to share my knowledge with the public about the beer I represented or sold. With beer, I believe, it is something with such a rich history and complexity that I think everyone who loves beer should know about the ins and outs of it, especially with such a variety of styles! I hope you enjoy listening to this very special episode of what will be many, because I know myself and Chasta had fun making it!
Cheers \m/,
