Ex-Megadeth Bassist Lands Gig In His Hometown

Former Megadeth bassist David Ellefson has landed a solo gig in his hometown of Jackson, Minnesota.

Ellefson has agreed to take the stage at the Jackson County Fair on July 29th, he reveals. However, instead of playing music, the bassist will be talking about his “rock and roll journey” in an appearance that will lead into the races at Jackson Motorplex, he says. After the races, he’ll pick up his bass and join his former high school bandmates from TOZ for a set.

“I look forward to giving an up close and personal talk about my rock and roll journey, which all began in Jackson and many of the ballrooms in night spots in the area,” Ellefson says. “Just as much, I’ll be reuniting to jam some classic songs with my friends and bandmates of the group TOZ, a band that we formed as middle and high school students in Jackson back in the early ’80s.”

Do you think Ellefson’s “rock and roll journey” would make for an interesting topic?
