After over forty years of being a band, fans of Rush were of course crushed to hear that the band was going to call it quits. One person who still can’t get over the fact that the band is no more is none other than guitarist Alex Lifeson. In a recent interview Alex tells how difficult it was when it came time to call it quits. He goes on to say, “It was difficult to accept that the band was over, even though it was 41 years, and there’s no shame in it after that period of time.” 

Lifeson also goes on to explain that at the time it was getting too difficult for Neal Peart to play and also describes that it was getting too difficult for himself to play that kind of music for almost three hours. Of course, five years after the last Rush performance Neil Peart, unfortunately, passed away, making a reunion most likely impossible. Lifeson does say that he is nowhere near being done making music and his new project Envy of None’s self-titled album is set for release this Friday.
