Avenge Sevenfold ‘Finishing Up’ New Album

The members of Avenged Sevenfold are “finishing up” their follow-up to 2016’s The Stage.

That’s the word from bassist Johnny Christ, who says the pandemic prevented he and his bandmates from putting the wraps on the project earlier. “We had a lot of delays, for a lot of different reasons,” Christ says. “But it’s just delays, and then adding COVID to some of those delays. We’re a pretty intricate band. The delays were already there, and COVID just made it a little longer.”

In addition to finishing the album, Christ says, the members of Avenged are currently mapping out their next few years. “We’re literally in the talks right now, having band meetings, about what the next couple of years are gonna look like and scheduling and everything like that,” he says. “So we’re excited. We’re getting in a great place as a band again. Not that there was a bad place.”

What’s Avenged Sevenfold’s best album?
