The NFL has announced that the San Francisco 49ers will travel to Mexico City in 2022 for a regular season game against the Arizona Cardinals.

The game is scheduled for Monday, November 21 at Estadio Azteca in the Mexican capital. It will count as a road game for the 49ers.

The game will be the final installment in the league’s 2022 International series, which will also feature three games in London and one in Germany.

The game will be San Francisco’s first international game since they beat the Jaguars in London 42-10 nine years ago.

The 49ers and Cardinals played the NFL’s first regular season game outside of America in Mexico City back in 2005. That one was also played at Estadio Azteca, and set the NFL’s regular season attendance record with 103,467 fans.
