Pink Floyd Reportedly Working Out Deal To Sell Entire Music Catalog

Following in the footsteps of such acts as Blondie, Neil Young, Bob Dylan and ZZ Top, the members of Pink Floyd are reportedly in talks to sell their entire music catalog.

The band is currently fielding offers from “several” potential buyers, who are vying for the rights to such hits as “Wish You Were Here,” “Comfortably Numb” and “Brain Damage,” according to Bloomberg. The deal is expected to net the band hundreds of millions of dollars, Bloomberg reports.

Although a number of artists have sold the rights to their music to the Hipgnosis Song Fund in recent years, it’s unclear if the organization is one of the bidders.

Why are so many rockers selling off the rights to their music?
