New fallout from the Rolling Stones article about Taylor Hawkins’ final days as a Foo Fighter.

A report Tuesday claimed he was too exhausted from the intense touring schedule and was considering scaling back or even quitting the band.

Rolling Stone conducted interviews with Hawkins’s friends, including Pearl Jam drummer Matt Cameron and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith. Dave Grohl and other FF members declined to talk.

Both Cameron and Smith have now blasted the piece.

Cameron posted on Instagram: “My quotes were taken out of context and shaped into a narrative I never intended. I am truly sorry to have taken part in this interview.”

Similarly, Smith apologized for the “pain my participation in the article may have caused.”
