The Rolling Stones brought their ‘Sixty’ tour to Liverpool, England on Thursday – and decided to pay tribute to a certain hometown band.
The Stones played the Lennon/McCartney tune “I Wanna Be Your Man”, with Mick Jagger introducing it as “a cover of a song written by some other local lads”.
“I Wanna Be Your Man” was, of course, recorded by both the Stones and the Beatles – Lennon and McCartney wrote it for the Stones in 1963, then later released their own version with Ringo Starr on lead vocals.
