‘Queen: Greatest Hits’ Becomes UK’s Best-Selling Album Of All-Time

YouTube, @Queen Official.

It may have taken more than 40 years to get there, but Queen’s Greatest Hits has become the United Kingdom’s best-selling album of all time, according to the Official Charts Company.

More than 1.26 million copies of the album have been purchased in the U.K. since its 1981 release, Official Charts reveals. That means one out of every four U.K. residents owns a copy. What’s more is Greatest Hits is currently spending its 1,000th week on the U.K. album chart.

“The British public and their infinitely great taste have made this the biggest-selling album in history,” says Queen drummer Roger Taylor. “We’re humbled and honored.”

Does Greatest Hits represent Queen’s best work?
