Scientists Using The Beatles To Fight Dementia

The key to treating dementia?  Take two Beatles records and call me in the morning.

Researchers are using the music of the Beatles, and other artists, to determine how listening to music can impact memory in older adults.

The team would scan people’s brains while they listened to a one-hour playlist of their favorite songs, measuring neurological response.

They found that music can help open up parts of the brain that get cut off in elderly people – particularly those with dementia.
