David Ellefson Slams Former Megadeth Bandmates

It appears that former Megadeth bassist David Ellefson has taken aim at his former bandmates for firing him when his personal life took a turn for the worse.

In a recent interview with Real Music, the 57-year-old Ellefson noted, “You find out who your friends are and you find out who your friends aren’t pretty quick when the sh** hits the fan. ‘Cause everybody wants to be around you when you’re picking up your Grammy.”

Although Ellefson didn’t specify which “friends” he was talking about, it seems obvious he was referring to his Megadeth bandmates, who ousted him in May 2021 for exchanging sexually-charged messages and explicit videos with a fan who was rumored to be underage.
