Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Flea Names The Best Punk Drummer In History

Although nobody has asked him, Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea has volunteered his pick for the greatest punk rock drummer in the history of music.

Flea makes the unsolicited comment in a recent tweet, writing, “Don Bolles is the greatest punk rock drummer of all time.”

Exactly what prompted him to post the message is a mystery. Bolles was a prominent member of the Los Angeles punk scene in the 1970s and 1980s, pounding the skins for such bands as the Germs, Nervous Gender, Celebrity Skin and 45 Grave. He currently works as an event organizer for musicians.

Who is your pick for the greatest punk drummer of all time?
