This Metallica Song Features The Most Misheard Lyrics In Rock History

YouTube, @Metallica.

Apparently, the members of Metallica don’t like eggs nearly as much as 70 percent of rock fans think they do.

According to a study conducted by Wordfinder, the lyrics to Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” are the most misunderstood of any song. More than 70 percent of people who were surveyed said they thought the 1991 song’s chorus was, “Eggs and light/End all nights.” It’s actually “Exit light/Enter night.”

The study has also determined that metal and R&B songs are the least likely to contain misheard lyrics — making “Enter Sandman” an anomaly.
