The Beatles Released Their Debut Single 60 Years Ago Today

YouTube, @The Beatles.

Wednesday marks a special anniversary in Beatles lore – the 60th anniversary of the band’s debut single.

On October 5th, 1962, the band released “Love Me Do”, backed with “P.S. I Love You”.

The song peaked at #17 on the UK charts, but two years later became a #1 hit in the U.S.

It’s hard to believe, but the Beatles would break up less than eight years later in April of 1970.
