Kiss founder Paul Stanley has addressed the recent controversy surrounding Kanye West.
West, the Grammy award-winning artist has been the topic of conversation for the last few weeks. West wore a “White Lives Matter” t-shirt at Paris Fashion Week, was accused of bullying and then shared antisemitic statements on Twitter.
In a now-deleted tweet, Kanye West said “I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death [sic] con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE … The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because Black people are actually Jew also… You guys have toyed with me and tried to black ball anyone whoever opposes your agenda.”
Stanley, who’s Jewish, shared his reaction to West’s comments and bipolar disorder diagnosis, stating:
“Mental Illness IS a disease but should NEVER be used to minimize the danger of hate speech, advocating anti-semitism and violence against religions or ethnicities. We have found ways over centuries to rationalize this behavior and viewed the atrocities that followed. SPEAK UP!”
