AC/DC frontman Brian Johnson opened up about the loss of founding member Malcolm Young in his new memoir “The Lives of Brian”.
In 2015, Johnson underwent heart surgery at a hospital in Sydney, only to learn that Young, who was suffering from early-onset dementia, was at the same facility.
Johnson asked a nurse if he could visit his longtime bandmate, but was told it was against the family’s wishes.
He said the news brought him to tears: “a tough thing, to shed tears in front of a stranger.”
Young died in 2017 at the age of 64.
