Rikki Rockett Says Social Media Is Creating A ‘Culture War’

Poison’s Rikki Rocket believes that social media is the reason Americans are at each other’s throats.

The drummer unloaded his thoughts in an Instagram post, writing “The current situation is insane and I blame social media. Social media has helped to create a culture war. At the heart of what people think is political is more a culture jam. Social media is the new propaganda machine.”

He said when he was growing up, “The most divisive thing was probably Rock vs. Disco! Lol! Now, people want a civil war if they don’t get their way.”

Rocket continued, “I hear both sides lash out statistics to support whatever thing they are trying to get across and I get that, but remember that figures don’t lie, but liars figure!”

How big a role do you think social media plays in the current political climate? Do you take steps to limit your social media use, or are you proudly ‘Too Online’? Share your thoughts on our Facebook or Twitter page.
