ZZ Top Busts Out 18-String Bass At Alabama Show

ZZ Top usually likes to keep things simple – but they went over the top during last week’s show in Huntsville, Alabama.

New bassist Elwood Francis busted out an 18-string bass – you heard me, 18-string bass – during a performance of “Got Me Under Pressure”.

Francis didn’t seem to use many of those 18 strings (the ones in the middle are nearly inaccessible,) but it certainly caught the crowd’s attention.

ZZ Top will close out their current tour in Florida this week, and launch a five-night Las Vegas residency in December.
