Queen guitarist Brian May says he’s working on a deluxe box set version of Star Fleet, his 1983 collaboration with Eddie Van Halen.

The two guitar legends teamed for a three-track ‘mini album’, billed as “Brian May + Friends”.

May says the box set will include “every take of every song” as well as outtakes, conversations, and “musical experimentation”.

May told Variety that listening to the tapes has been “highly emotional”, as both Eddie Van Halen and bassist Phil Chen are no longer with us.

The release is expected sometime in mid-2023.
