Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour is on Donovan’s new track “Rock Me,” from his upcoming album “Gaelia: The Sulan Sessions.”
There are clips of the new tune on Donovan’s website, as well as the album’s closing song “Lover O’ Lover,” which Gilmour also helped with.
The album reportedly “celebrates Donovan’s Gaelic roots music.”
In a statement on his website, Donovan said, “I have fulfilled my service again as a living shaman poet. All the guests excelled, and Dan [Fitzgerald] co-producing with me, enhancing the songs with their superlative talents, [showing] great respect for all I have achieved in bringing worldwide appreciation for our Gaelic tradition.”
Discussing David’s participation on the album, Donovan shared: “David had already learned to fly (he wrote a song about it, too) and flew himself in to Ireland for the session. David brought his guitar roadie, who set up two amps in the studio, handed David his pink Strat, and his unique signature sound enthralled us all.”
The album “Gaelia: The Sulan Sessions” will be released on December 15, 2022.
