Axl Rose Will Stop Tossing Mic After Fan Was Reportedly Injured

Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose is breaking a 30-year tradition.

He recently announced on social media that he would stop throwing his microphone into the audience during their shows after learning that a fan may have been wounded at their most recent performance in Adelaide, Australia.

In a tweet, Axl Rose said tossing the mic has always been a part of their shows ending, but if the allegations are true regarding the fan, they do not want anyone getting hurt at their shows. He expressed gratitude to the group’s fans for understanding.

“Having tossed the mic at the end of r show for over 30 years we always felt it was a known part of the very end of r performance that fans wanted and were aware of to have an opportunity to catch the mic.” Rose wrote, “Regardless in the interest of public safety from now on we’ll refrain from tossing the mic or anything to the fans during or at r performances.”
